Barbell Close Grip Bench Press
Feb 03, 2011
The Bench press is one of those lifts that has multiple versions. One of these versions is known as the close grip barbell Bench Press. This movement is primarily executed to help develop not only the lower and mid chest, but also to help develop the triceps as well. Most fitness professionals will tell you that this is a movement that emphasizes more of the triceps than any other muscle group and will write in into a triceps workout routine. The 5 points are the same as the normal bench Press which are to secure the head, shoulders, hips, and both feet to the floor or the bench so be sure to execute this movement with the same thoughts on technique as you would during a normal bench press. -Mike McErlane
