Training For Football
Hi, I am currently weighing in at 180 lbs and am 5'11. I am working out to be a Defensive Back and looking to walk onto Virginia Tech. I am using the MF Trainer Hardcore workout and have just started the first month of the workout. I can bench max alot for my weight (330 lbs) but my problem is I need to lose alot more body fat in order to get my forty down as well as build more muscle and get more ripped. My biggest problem is not getting stronger but actually just losing fat especially around my lower stomach and gaining muscle mass. It could be my diet but again I am not sure. I have recently started eating 6 meals a day with the first meal being 2 eggs, bowl of oatmeal and the rest of the meals being a average size piece of chicken along with 1 cup of steamed broccoli. Any help would be appreciated.
Make sure you are doing some sprint intervals and also overhead squats are a good exercise for overall strength and core stability-two essential components for the success of a DB. Also, don’t be afraid to lift heavy. Hit some heavy lifts two times a week. It’ll keep you strong and explosive. Additionally, the heavy weight lifting will help in building the muscle that is crucial to your body fat loss. Good luck and work hard!
