Ladies do NOT be afraid of the Protein!
How increasing your dietary protein will help improve your muscle tone, bone density and help you lose weight.
What is Protein?
Protein is a macro nutrient found in many foods such as poultry, fish and dairy products. It can also be taken as a supplement such as in a powder or in bar form. Protein literally is the building block of muscle. Now ladies do not worry, taking protein will not make you TOO BIG. Women lack the hormones to build unnaturally large muscles.
More Muscle = More Fat Loss.
In order to develop that lean and toned look you have to build muscle, after all it is not fat-toned or skin-toned it is MUSCLE-toned.The more muscle you have on your body the more fat calories your body uses expends when you are working out or just to move around.
The body utilizes protein when you workout to repair and develop muscle tissue that has been torn down due to exercise. The muscle uses the protein to make itself stronger and more firm, and let's face it who doesn't want firmer muscles?
The body also uses protein to improve bone density which helps prevent fractures and breaks. Bones are rich in minerals such as calcium and iron but they are also rich in protein so if you think that if you just take your normal calcium supplement think again and start using more protein. Bones become less dense and muscle tissue less strong as we age but also because of a poor diet. You can prevent both of these things from happening by adding more protein to your diet. If you don't enjoy protein rich foods try different protein powders to find which ones you think taste the best.
