Yoga and pilates instructors claim they are frequently asked to explain the differences between the two. "The basic answer is that, unlike many other forms of exercise, they're both low intensity, low impact, and inclusive," explains Prof Greg Whyte, a former Olympian and now leading authority on sports science. "In general, yoga is more about flexibility and stability, whereas pilates is about strength and stability."
