10, 8, 6, 4 Reps

Hey man. In general for lifting weights, is doing 4 sets of 10, 8, 6, 4 reps good for trying to get toned? Or is it better for getting bigger? Because I’m trying to get toned. Thanks.

The pyramid set rep ranges you listed are indeed for adding more weight with each progressive set which will have you get stronger yes. The question I have is for what exercises are you referring to are you performing this rep scheme? You can get toned off of any type of program, but there are a multitude of exercises, reps, weight and speed that all play a role.

My suggestion for you would be to follow this plan for getting toned and also follow what I wrote for you based off of your goal with the Trainer. I wrote all the programs for 126 profiles so if your a member then I can guarantee the plan is what you need to follow under gym workouts. either way try this program i recently wrote for your goal of getting toned.
