how to gain strength
what is a good routine for gaining strength? I train regularly but seem to be stuck at a certain number and cant add anymore wieght to my lifts. My goal is to add up to 40 pounds on my squat and 20 pounds to my bench press. How can I go about doing this safely and approximately how many weeks will it take to get there?
Cut your reps down and add more weight. Soon enough your reps will go up as your muscles and tendons adjust to the work load. For ex, start with 15 reps of squats with what you are currently pushing. Set 2 add, 10 pounds with 12 reps, set 3 add another 10 pounds and aim for 10-12 reps, etc…
