Trouble losing weight
I have been an avid runner for many years and have incorporated weight lifting to my exercise regime for the past 7 years. I used running and weightlifting to successfully get my body back after each of my three pregnancies. Two years ago, when I turned 39, I began gaining weight. I have increased the intensity and duration of my workouts, tried various workouts, cut back on calories, but I’m still gaining. I’ve gained 16 pounds so far. I’m only 5' with a petite frame, so this is a lot for me. I started M&F Hers' “Bikini Ready in 4 weeks” last week, followed it to a T, and no weight loss, nor did I feel any more toned. What am I doing wrong?
When I hear stories like this, my first question is usually, when was the last time you had a physical and have you had your thyroid checked? As we age, our hormones and metabolic rate fluctuate, as well. It doesn’t sound like you are doing anything wrong, but I would get that information from a medical professional. Another question is how is your diet?
