Treadmill: jog vs run/walk
I am trying to loose weight so before my workout I run on the treadmill for about 30 minutes on 7 mph. Is it better to jog or to walk and run? And is it ok to do cardio everyday for this duration and still loose weight and build muscle?
I would suggest that you move your cardio work to post-lifting. That way, you are prepped to burn fat, as you have already depleted glycogen from your muscles from doing your resistance work before-hand.
Running and Walking at the same amount of time? Of course, running is going to burn more calories. I believe in doing cardio 5-6 days of week for successful weight loss. If you are eating good calories and lifting strong, you should be able to hold onto muscle.
